Referral Program Terms

These terms apply to the Digisensus Recorder referral program ("the Program"), run by Digisensus, MB ("Digisensus", "we"). They add to the Digisensus Recorder Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You accept them when you ask for an invite link, or when you sign up with an invite code. If you don't accept them, don't take part.

1. Digisensus credit

1.1. Digisensus credit ("D") is the unit in which balances and the prices of Digisensus transcription and summaries are kept. D is not money. Where we offer D for purchase, it is sold for euros or US dollars at the rate shown at the time of purchase.

1.2. Credit earned in the Program ("referral credit") has no cash value. It cannot be refunded, exchanged, sold, transferred to another account, or paid out in any form. It can only be spent on Digisensus transcription and summaries in Digisensus Recorder.

2. Who can take part

2.1. To invite someone ("referrer"), you need a Digisensus account in good standing, and you must accept these terms before you receive an invite link.

2.2. The person you invite ("new user") must be a real, individual person who has never had a Digisensus account, including an account that was later deleted. They must sign up with your invite code and accept these terms when signing up. A code can't be added after sign-up.

2.3. Each person may have one Digisensus account, and each Mac may be used for one new-user reward. You may not invite yourself, including through another email address, account or device you control.

3. The reward

3.1. When a new user qualifies, the referrer and the new user each receive 5 D of referral credit.

3.2. A new user qualifies when, within 30 days of signing up, they transcribe at least one recording of 60 seconds or longer with Digisensus. Signing up alone does not qualify.

3.3. Referral credit is valid for 30 days from the moment it is added to the account. Credit not spent by then expires and is removed. Expired credit is not restored.

3.4. Referral credit is spent after the daily free credit and before purchased credit. Requests paid with referral credit are treated like requests paid with free credit, including the use described in the Terms of Service for improving Digisensus models.

3.5. A referrer can be rewarded for at most 20 new users in any 12-month period.

4. Review

4.1. We check every referral for fraud before any credit is added. The rewards for a referrer's fourth and every later new user are always held until a person at Digisensus has reviewed them. We may also hold any other referral for review.

4.2. While a referral is under review, neither the referrer nor the new user receives its credit. We may approve or refuse it at our sole discretion, and we are not required to give reasons.

5. Abuse

5.1. The following are not allowed: inviting yourself; creating or using more than one account per person; fake, borrowed or temporary email addresses; automated or scripted sign-ups; offering money, goods or other rewards to people for signing up; spam; and posting invite links where the rules of that website or service do not allow it.

5.2. If we reasonably believe that a referral, an account or a person breaks these terms or abuses the Program, we may, without notice: refuse or cancel the reward; remove referral credit, whether spent or not, from the accounts involved; stop an account from taking part in the Program; and suspend or close the accounts involved under the Terms of Service.

6. Data we use to prevent fraud

6.1. To prevent abuse of the Program, we process the IP address and a device identifier of the referrer and the new user when they accept these terms, sign up, and use Digisensus. The device identifier is derived from the Mac's hardware identifier on the Mac and made one-way before it reaches us; we never receive the hardware identifier itself. We also process the email address domain, and the times of sign-up and use.

6.2. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, and we keep it for 12 months after the referral is closed. The Privacy Policy explains your rights.

7. Changes and end of the Program

7.1. We may change these terms or end the Program at any time. Changes apply to referrals started after they are published. Credit already added stays valid until it expires, unless it was obtained in breach of these terms.

8. Taxes and law

8.1. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania.
